How to Restore Deleted Data

Android phones’ erased files don’t disappear from storage. Instead, the data are seamlessly transferred to a new

location, while the old one is discreetly marked as “free” in preparation for the next set of files requiring a safe

haven.

If not overwritten, these purged files may be retrievable.

Here are 3 ways to do it.

Recuva

The good news is that Android files that appear to be deleted aren’t really wiped from the device. Instead, they’re just moved out of the folder where they live and marked as available space for other files to take over. That means if you’re quick enough, you can still get them back with a little help from specialized recovery software.

Connect the memory SD card from your Android phone or tablet to the computer using a USB cable and enable USB debugging mode on it if prompted. Then, select the file type(s) you need and click on Scan button to begin a quick scanning.

Once the scan is complete, select the entries you want to recover and place a checkmark next to them on the left. Then, click on the Recover button to save them back to the computer. The program also has a limited knowledge base and no online chat support. This can be frustrating if you lose the files you need again in the future.

iMobie Phone Rescue

The free trial version of iMobie Phone Rescue allows you to preview lost files without the need to pay for the software. The program requires you to enable USB debugging on your device, but the process is easy and only takes a few seconds. Once you’re done, select the file types that you want to recover, and click Next.

Once the program has finished scanning your device, you’ll be able to view all of your deleted files. Select the ones that you want to restore and follow the on-screen instructions. You can also use a deep scan to get more results, but this will take longer.

This software is available for Windows (from XP to 10) and macOS (10.8 or later). It can also backup, restore, and fix Android devices, and it works with most popular brands. It’s a great option for recovering your lost files, and it’s even used by over 30 million people around the world!

Google Backup

When your Android device gets updated automatically, your files may get deleted by mistake. The good news is that if you have backups on your phone, you can restore them to retrieve those lost data.

The internal storage of most Android devices consists of two pools of memory chips – one for the operating system and another for extra files like apps, music files, photos and videos. Sometimes, these memory chips can fail or get overused.

If this happens, the Android file recovery process becomes more difficult. This is why it’s important to back up your files on a regular basis. Fortunately, most manufacturers offer backup solutions that make it easy to get deleted data back on your phone. The following are the three proven ways to do so.

Samsung Data Recovery

Samsung data recovery software tools are built to recover all types of files from various sources and storage devices. They can be used to scan the recycle bin for cleaned files, get back deleted files from formatted storage disks including external device storage, and even those lost due to virus attack or general system and operating system crash.

Once you launch the program, it will request you to enable USB debugging mode on your phone, and follow the

on-screen instruction to do so. Once this is done, select the file categories you want to recover (contacts, messages, photos, videos, documents, etc.), and click the Next button to begin scanning your phone.

Once the quick scanning is complete, you will see all recoverable files displayed on the screen. Click the Recover button to save them on your computer. You may need to wait for a while for this process to finish, depending on the size of your files.
